Hey,I’m Joe, Kincaid, Producer, Sound Designer and DJ from London. He/Him 🙂
What is the last song you listened to before answering this Q&A?
Pharaoh & Yogg – The Ultra Machine, I’m just listening through my music ahead of a gig next week in Belgium, usually I’ve got some weird floaty sounds on or a very nerdy audiobook on Biology or history haha, this is unusually heavy for my daytime / laptop admin activities.
3 adjectives that start with the same letter to describe your music…
Bleepy Bloopy and Brash
Favorite season and why?
Transitional seasons I actually love, I feel like I get a healthy dose of enjoying being outdoors when I want but also not feeling guilty for being inside in the studio….also best outfits get worn spring / autumn…… I’m a big outdoors nature person, so I also really observing that change of environments and life….If I had to choose I’d probably go for spring.
How do you deal with being nervous before a gig?
Try not to spend long doing any prep on the day….I feel like over prep can make nerves worse, best to just ride the nerves out and turn up to the set without too many expectations or fixed ideas of the flow you’ll bring…
Favorite dessert at your local favorite restaurant?
Not going to lie, I never get desert at restaurants, idk why just never feel like it after I’ve eaten…
Favorite Logic trick?
One of my favorite and simple go to’s for creating all kinds of interesting elements to my tracks, is the bounce in place, resample in Quicktime Sampler then adding various transient splits and running midi info from an arpeggiator into this to create randomized sequenced patterns of a sample or sound…
Listen to the moment at 1hr38min mark in your PI mix… describe how it makes you feel?
Like falling into a massive pit inside a cave somewhere….
Best gig of your life so far?
Had a lot of fun last year closing room 2 in Corsica studios in London…
Do you have a routine that keeps you sane?
As much outdoor time in nature or green / wild spaces as I can, it always gives me clarity and I also tend to find / record a lot of great sounds for my work, which itself is a great meditative listening routine.
Guilty pleasure in track form?
Hahah ngl I got a soft spot for this, personal headphones listening when I’m on my way somewhere….sassy hype….Caroline Polachek – Bunny Is A Rider (Nikki Nair Remix)
Describe the feeling of the first track you ever made…
Ahhh I wish I could find the track to share, probably was feeling slightly over excited considering how bad it must have been….
Where do you see yourself musically in 2050?
Making bleep bloops for nature documentaries with the occasional gig….
What track would you use to convince someone to run away with you?
Most ridiculous request while DJing?
Ah a guy who asked to MC over the set, then proceeded to plug in his mic, then when I said no, he tried to put it down in the booth and unplugged the decks….
Favorite mix in recent memory?
A mix I’ve enjoyed a lot is Mistareez – May 2022 on Balamii radio, just such great listening. Had this on driving around portugal a year or so ago, has lots of good memories attached. Perko live at Prion audio…also slaps…got to say some of the best mixes I heard where actually from artists like Beatrice at the Kiosk Radio stage during Horst this year…those were all record…
Favorite club and why?
Fold, on the right night it’s just and all round sensory world, I pretty much always leave feeling inspired, satisfied, danced out and exhausted in the best way.

What is your favorite party/collective where you reside and why?
Bodily, Terra Obscura and Goodness….not just because I love the people running the parties, but also just the way each of them are bringing such a unique approach to the way they put on their events. There’s a lot of hybridization between listening experiences, club nights and even movements and wellness…they also provide a beautiful community that supports one anothers events. It’s been such a pleasure to attend and play at these…. Can’t recommend them enough if you’re based in London or passing through.
What movie would you pick to do the score for?
White God, amazing Hungarian Film about dogs taking over a city and a young girl coming of age…..that’s the story line….it already has a beautiful soundtrack but would love to give it an electronic rethink
Favorite herb?
Chives…go with so many savory dishes
What would you like to see in the future for the dance community?
Sustainable, realistic opportunities for all, and more support for artists to create without compromising on time / money to survive….I think this is creating a narrower pool of people who can pursue artistry…also for nightlife, music, all creative musical pursuits, to be recognised for their true value, with support schemes set up to help people pursue and thrive in these areas…
