Introduce yourself? Pronouns? Where do you currently reside?

Hello, I’m Kasra. He/him. I’m writing to you from London.

Describe your gear set up in full detail?

At home I have Korg m1, Emu orbit, Xoxbox 303 clone,Tascam portastudio (I also use it to sample tapes), a microphone and some pedals.

Sometimes I take finished songs to a studio I use and run midi through Prophet 7 and Moog voyager to add some movements and layers and replace some of the drums with 808 or 909 if needed.

3 adjectives that start with the same letter to describe your aura?

Chill, curious, colourful

What movie would you choose to soundtrack?

Bram Stoker’s Dracula. It’s great as it is. It’s one of my favorite films so I’d like to have a go.

Track to clear the room in the way you want?

Let’s go out with a bang!

What is your vibe 30 minutes before a gig?

Chatting with friends in the green room, going out for a quick cig. taking pressure off and reminding myself that I can always do it better if I’m relaxed.

Listen to the moment at 33:33 min mark in your PI mix… describe how it makes you feel?

It makes me feel that I am going out tonight and I’m really excited about it.

Best trip of your life so far (Psychedelic or Travel)

Going to Berlin for my 30th Bday last year and everything that happened on that trip.

Oddest moment while DJing?

New Year’s eve 2015. I was doing an all night set with a friend. The venue had loads of steps behind the booth, kind of like an amphitheater. Someone fell and face planted into the decks from a few steps up. It made the music stop and all the records fell down. We were worried about her. She got up and said ‘I’m good’. Party started again and people cheered!

Advice to someone making their first track?

Spend time making your own library by sampling music you like. Find out which synths, VSTs, effect pedals and drum machines you want to own over time. Be disciplined about it, it takes time and practice 🙂

How did your first gig go?

It was my second week in London back in 2011, I fucked up a transition and spent the next 30 mins after my set being sad until someone told me that no one gives a fuck as much as you do. Stop blaming yourself and start practicing more.

Favorite mix in recent memory?

Favorite place to listen to music and why?

In my bedroom or living room. It’s my own space so I can have it the way I like by choosing the light colour and smell.

Let’s play a pi pi pi game… I give you a situation & you give me a track

Yellow room with yellow carpet and yellow fog

Tea house on mushrooms

Stuck in a tiny closet with cell phone light on hour 27

What is your favorite party/collective where you reside and why?

Adonis. It has the best crowd and music. It made me fall in love with London again. If you’ve been, you know what I’m talking about 🙂

Favorite essential oil?

Citron

Prediction of music in 2040?

Making electronic music would become too easy. Leading to a huge resurgence in bands making dance music.

What would you like to see in the future for the dance community?

A phone-ban on all dancefloors please.
