Introduce yourself? Pronouns? Where do you currently reside? 1 fun fact about yourself?
H: Hi! My name is Harrison (he/him), and I currently reside in Naarm/Melbourne.
B: I’m Billy (he/him). We actually met on a dance floor In Naarm, and now live together!
Who/what currently inspires you music-wise that has nothing to do with music?
H: Soccer weirdly inspires me a lot music-wise. It’s a bit hard to explain, but watching endless videos of soccer managers/players definitely makes me DJ/produce in a fun and quirky way, and also makes me not take it too seriously.
Favorite sound in nature? Describe how it makes you feel.
B: The Eastern Whipbird call reminds me of some the nicer places I’ve visited in Australia
Dream line-up?
H:
Moopie b2b Bayu
Roza Terenzi b2b D Tiffany

Favorite DJ mixing trick?
B: Chopping and/or hitting the wrong cue button (whoops)
If you had to trade your USB with one DJ, who would it be and why?
H: Moopie. He is without a doubt my favourite and the most talented DJ I have ever seen (and also one of the nicest people ever). I have seen Moopie countless times, and no matter the setting or time, every set leaves me shazaming and wanting every track. I am definitely guilty of stealing a lot of his tracks haha
How do you typically prepare a mix?
B: Takes longer than I care to admit, we usually just show each other songs we’ve been enjoying, have a few mixes and work from there. Usually involves Harrison culling off a few of my more ridiculous tracks (for the better).
How do you avoid burnout?
H: The biggest thing for me is going to events to watch my favourite deejays. After a night out I am always want to find and make new music. Also cooking pasta!
Favorite thing to cook currently?
B: Harrison and I have mastered the art of DIY fresh pasta. It was particularly comforting during recent lockdowns knowing once or twice a week we could share a meal together.
Who do you think is the most underrated artist of our time?
H: Honestly, Fibre Optixxx. Riley is one of my best friends, and is definitely the most talented producer I know. He has taught us both so much about deejaying and music in general, and helped me so much as a producer. Riley has such a bright future ahead, and I’m so excited to watch it happen!
What is the theme song of your life?
DJ Goal?
H: To have found enough music to never have to play the same song twice. Also, to have someone (billy?) to do my recordboxing for me haha
If you had to go back in time music wise what era would it be and why?
B: Early 2000s, i feel like half my library of music is from this period. If only 3-5y/o me knew what I was living through 🙁
Let’s play a pipipi game… I give you a situation & you give me a track
Sunset in Ibiza on a comedown
DMT with your Dad…
If you had to describe yourself as an animal, what would it be and why?
B: A pigeon – I say this hearing the familiar coos outside my window. Amongst friends I’ve been known to look and behave like a pigeon from time to time…I’ve embraced it
What is your favorite party/collective where you reside and why?
H: Techworld. A monthly party in Naarm, whilst only starting this year, every one of their parties has been some of the best memories I have ever made on a dance floor. To me, the vibe and music played at techworld embodies what a party should be, fun!
What was your best moment on the dance floor?
B: Was very surreal hearing Born Slippy at 6am on an Edinburgh dance floor a day after watching trainspotting for the first time. It was actually one of my first experiences going out to a dance event, I remember thinking I would love to do this all the time.
Longest you’ve stayed up and why?
H: Probably at Hopkins creek festival in 2020, which was actually our first time going to a festival together! Staying up to watching Sleep D play the sunrise set is definitely one of my favourite moments together <3
What is your most recent favorite DJ mix and why?
B: Ironically, it’s probably Priori’s pi pi pi mix. I think it’s a really beautifully curated mix, I’ve experienced a really nice range of emotions listening to it over the past couple of weeks. I’ve found myself coming back to it while I study, eat, walk, drive…all the time.
Track that makes you think about falling in love…
H:
What was your first gig? How did it go?
Well, It was event that was advertised as an open art gallery with some live performances. We were so nervous we prepared the entire set from start to finish, song for song. Little did we know, it was essentially just a rave and the casual downtempo set we’d planned out wasn’t exactly ‘the vibe’. It was really fun though, we just went really turbo and the crowd were reallllly crazy.
Any advice to upcoming DJs?
Have as much fun as possible, and don’t take yourself too seriously!
What would you like to see in the future for the dance community?
H&B: More inclusivity and diversity in dance communities. We’d particularly like to see venues and promoters do more to make everyone feel welcome and safe at dance events. Everyone should be able to have as much fun as possible without having their nights ruined by others. We’ve had many instances where people’s shitty behavior on a dance floor has ruined the experience of going out for many of our friends.
