Introduce yourself? Hometown? Where do you currently reside? 1 fun fact about yourself
I’m from Oxford in the UK, not too far from London – I’ve lived in Brooklyn for just over three years now 🙂 Fun fact is I’m still not entirely sure how to pronounce Autechre so I never mention them in conversation.
If you could place a dj booth anywhere in the world… where would it be & what would you play?
I would put one back in a venue called the Cellar in Oxford that recently closed down. It’s a huge blow to the relatively small scene there, and was the location of all my formative dance music experiences as a teenager – RIP Cellar!
Favorite collective/scene at the moment?
I’m really excited about the scene in Brooklyn right now, I feel like a new generation of artists and promoters are coming up across various genres and vibes, it feels like a really cool time to be part of the scene.
Favorite mix series?
Electronic Explorations by Rob Booth was really important for me starting out, loved the Juno Plus podcast too. In terms of local stuff I’m loving the Bank Records series right now.
Favorite movie rave scene?
I feel like Blade is the generic answer – there’s a beautiful scene in Victoria (2015) that I love – youtube.com/watch?v=TB6pDfgtLn0 – the whole film is insane.
Favorite decade for music and why?
Oo tricky – maybe right now honestly – I feel this generation, especially in the UK, is coming out with crazy stuff that builds on the legacy of the early 2010’s but is taking it in new, unpredictable directions
How do you hydrate at a gig?
By drinking water lol
Dream b2b?
Already played it mate – with my buddy Mike Smaczylo who has sadly moved back to the UK – get to know him he’s an incredible DJ

Advice to beginning dj’s?
Learn how to DJ before telling everyone you are a DJ.

DJ Pet Peeves?
Playing nothing but slamming tracks – i.e. playing it safe by playing nothing but bangers – it drives me nuts when DJs do that – take some risks you’re a DJ !!
Where do you want to be flown out to play in the future?
I’ve heard loads of cool stuff about scenes in the Midwest of America so maybe somewhere out there. Anywhere weird would be cool – I’d also love to visit Montreal so playing out there would be a treat!
Where do you see your rave self in 30 years from now?
Hopefully hydrated, relatively sober, and still dancing!
Most underrated artist at the moment?
Tough call, so many people who’ve been underrated are starting to come out of the shadows and get recognition this year. I’d probably say Gaunt – definitely one of the most consistently creative producers out there, I’ve loved literally everything they’ve ever released.
What would you like to see in the future for the dance community?
Maybe people starting to support smaller parties and promoters, especially people who take risks on bookings. Too many people in the scene right now are bringing in less known but more exciting artists, only to struggle to break even. I hope to see more and more parties and labels developing in Brooklyn, 2019 has been really exciting so it can only get better.
Favorite mix to play during sexy time ;)?
I actually have one or two I’ve recorded for the bedroom – generally quite heavy on Rhythm & Sound, Nate Dogg, and the occasional breaks track cause u know I gotta stay true to me.
